Our Farmers’ Field Schools have produced incredibly rewarding results amongst their local communities. Farmers donating food to orphans, men returning from city jobs to work on now profitable farms, the sick and elderly receiving trained home care... the success stories have been plentiful.

Children are a key part of the Just Earth family; On Saturdays in the Maseno region, Mother’s Union volunteers provide school tuition to orphaned children and serve them a nourishing meal made with food donated by Field Schools. An increasing number of the Orphan groups have access to small plots of land which has enabled them to grow their own food and learn farming skills – a critical skill for the future especially as many of them have family land to run.

As a result of farms becoming profitable again, many husbands and fathers have returned home from the city, where they have been at risk of contracting HIV Aids. This positive outcome in addition to them learning about the sanctity of marriage, has resulted in a much stronger family unit in these parts of Africa.
